The newest wave of consumer rip-off has come by the way of "stripped" retail packaging (buy camera or computer laptop, but- without the normal retail package accessories; battery and case are not included (however they'll be happy to sell them to you at over-inflated prices). Any time a company selling over the internet makes you call to confirm your order, beware... they are probably selling "stripped" packaging and trying to add additional products to your order. Companies advertising ridiculously low prices may be guilty of this practice so beware. Try to use Paypal if possible to avoid giving anyone your credit card information over the telephone. If you don't like the deal, walk away! FAST! If told that a product is out of stock for 6-8 weeks, then you should cancel the order and hang up. Then call your credit card company to cancel and re-issue a new card. Be nervous about your credit card number being in the hands of a company you have no previous business experience.
It's not just a bait and switch scam, it's, "I got all your credit card info recorded on my server and there's not a damn thing you can do about it now.
