Rented Lamborghini Gallardo abandoned on side of freeway
According to general manager of Exotic Skittles, Tim Tran, the Lamborghini Gallardo that was abandoned retails for 165,000 used and an unbelievable 220,000 new and was just one of two they had in their fleet. Because of the high price tag, the cost to rent one of these on a week night is more than many people make in a week and more than some make in a month: about 1,200 dollars. The cost might be worth it when you consider that the flashy sports car can go from 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 198 miles per hour. Its amazing performance may be the reason that the car was wrecked in the first place assuming the driver got a little carried away.
As for the damage to the car, Tim Tran thinks it’s probably unsalvageable, the cost to repair it wouldn’t be worth it. While Tran has seen his exotic cars wrecked from time to time, this is the first time he’s ever had one of them abandoned. Thanks to the rental contract, they know exactly who to track down about the damaged car. Per the agreement, the renter’s personal car insurance will have to cover the enormous cost of the damage. Currently, the renter’s identity has not been released and Exotic Skittles is still determining whether or not to press charges.
Whatever happens, one thing is certain, the person who rented the Lamborghini Gallardo was lucky to be insured though chances are, his/her insurance rate is about to skyrocket. Then again, anyone who can drop over a thousand bucks to rent a car for a night can probably afford the higher rate.
