Veterans Day Discounts (11 Nov 2010) For Veterans! (Active, National Guard/Reserves and Retired)!

As a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and a person engaged in doing business from home, I always love to pass on information that may be of value to my fellow defenders of Freedom. I believe we are a special lot, simply by the choices we made. We were either called and heeded the call, or we sensed a need and volunteered to serve. Regardless, the United States remains a model of democracy and in spite of some citizens confusion on issues, the thread of Freedom binds us all and will never be broken.

I am impressed that by the apparent recognition by more and more people each year, who are deciding that the Freedoms we enjoy come with a huge price tag. People everywhere are choosing in large measure to pay homage to the men and women of our Military Service. If you have been in a major Airport, you have no doubt seen welcoming committees there to greet our military members arriving and departing on official orders. What a joy it is to witness this as it happens.

As in past years, Veterans Day will be observed on Thursday, November, 11, 2010, and many  local businesses are offering a variety of discounts to veterans and  their families (with proper identification), as a way of saying "Thank
You" for your service to our country.

The following is a list of some of those businesses, the discounts they  are offering, and their web sites showing additional information on  their discounts. It is by no means complete and that is how you can get involved should you desire. What is available where you are? Is there a way you can make some contact with Veterans or Veteran's groups in you area? Perhaps you can give transportation to someone who is without. Maybe you can visit some of the merchants and tell them Thank You for caring. I know you will find a way to help.

If you are a veteran we encourage you to take advantage of these special  discounts.
