One Of America's Pioneering Black Journalists, Frederick Douglass Published The North Star Newspaper On December 3, 1847, In Rochester, New York. The Paper's Slogan Was: "Right Is On No Sex --- Truth Is Of No Color --- God Is The Father Of Us All, And All We Are Brethren."
Douglass Had Recently Returned From England Where He Lectured On Such Subjects As Slavery And Woman's Rights For Two Years.
Overseas He Made Enough Money To Purchase His Own Freedom And To Establish The Publication. He Pusblished The Abolitionist Newspaper Until 1851.
