Carroll Became The First Black To Be The Lead In A Television Program, When Julia Aired In September, 1968. In 1976 She Had Her Own Variety Series, The Diahann Carroll Show.
During Her Career Diahann Carroll Appeared In Several Television Shows And Movies. Porgy And Bess, Paris Blue And Claudine (For Which She Was Oscar-Nominated) Are Among These. During The 1980's She Took The Role Of Dominique Deveraux On The Popular Nighttime Soap, Dynasty. She Called Herself Television's "First Black Bitch."
