He Had For His People:

Today Members Of The National Black
Business Trade Association (NBBTA) And
Black Business Space Pay Tribute To
CEO/Founder. Lee Green.

A Husband, Father (Three Daughters)  And
Grandfather ( Three Grandchildren), Lee
Green's Career As A Self-Made Business
Man Spans More Than Three Decades.

In 1979 He Started Capitol Planning
Corporation, Which Specialized In
Annuities, Mutual Funds, Insurance, Real

According To Green, The Publication Was
To Serve As A Kind Of "Work-Book," Breaking Down Usually Complicated Financial
Jargon, So That Everyday Working People
Could Understand And Apply It, In Practical Ways.

Unlike Ebony, Jet, Black Enterprise And
Essence, Which Tended To Focus On
Successful African Americans After They
Made Money, Financial Independence
Money Management Magazine Presented
The Step-By-Step Process (Investing And
Growing Money) Required To Become Financially Successful.

Substantive Interviews With People Like
The Late Reginald Lewis, Melvin Van
Peeples And Dick Gregory, Helped The
Magazine Become A Success Nationally And
Abroad. It Was Distributed In 44 States And
Five Foreign Countries, And Had A
Circulation Of Approximately 100,000 People.

Financial Independence Radio, An
Extension Of The Magazine, Was A Financial News Radio Show That Aired On WHUR-FM In Washington, DC, Between 1983 And 1985.

Another Of Lee's Companies,
Determination, Effort, Attitude And Love

Of The First Black Network Marketing
Companies, Its Goal Was To "Establish
Better Distribution For Black Products --
Helping Them More Easily Reach Their
Targeted Consumer Market." Using Items
From Over 30  Black Manufacturers,
D.E.A.L 's Product Line Included More Than
200 Items, Featuring Everything, From
Haircare Products To Toys And Games.

Brown's Journal, Cathy Hughes (Radio-One), Black Enterprise, Magazine, Essence Magazine,  BET (Bev Smith), The Los Angeles Times And The Wall Street Journal.
