Did racism play a role in a black man's 2006 ( Christopher McCowen ) guilty verdict? One white woman on the jury who allegedly referred to McCowen as "the big black guy" and said she was afraid of him. Now last I checked being afraid of someone does not make them guilty. I'm not the only one who thinks that as the judge in the case has taken the very unusual step of calling the jury back to see what happened during deliberations.
