On September 21, 1998, One Of Track And Field's Most Dynamic Stars, Florence Griffith Joyner, Died From A Seizure While Sleeping In Her Home, In Mission Viejo, California. She Was 38 Years Old.

Known To The World As "Flo-Jo," Joyner Was A Triple Medalist At The 1988 Olympics In Seoul, South Korea, Where She Smashed The Records For The 100 And 200-Meter Runs. She Also Won A Gold Medal Anchoring The U.S. 4x100 Relay Team.

Her Trademark, Good-Looks, Flowing Hair, Long Fingernails And One-Legged Running Gear Was A Topic For Media Disussion But Never Overshadowed Her Athletic Ability. She Won AP Athlete Of The Year Honors And The Sullivian Award In 1988, As The World's Best Amateur Athlete.

Her Husband Was 1984, Triple-Jump Gold Medalist, Al Joyner. She Was The Sister-In-Law Of Six-Time Olympic Medalist And World Heptathlon Record Holder, Jackie Joyner Kersee.

Following Her Retirement From Sports, Flo-Jo Became An Entrepreneur, Product Endorser And Actress, Among Other Things.
