Dr. Ben Carson, Director Of Pediatric Neurosurgery, At John Hopkins University, In Baltimore, Maryland, Led The Team Of More Than 70 Doctors And Nurses Who Performed The Operation On Conjoined Twins.

Carson Noted That The Team "Did Everything Humanly Possible" To Carry Out The First Successful Separation Of This Kind. None Of The Surgeons Accepted Payment For The Procedure, Which Took Five Months To Plan And Cost Thousands Of Dollars.

Ben Carson Grew Up In A Lower-Class Neighborhood, In Detroit, Michigan. He Received A Scholarship From Yale University And Also Attended The University Of Michigan Medical School. In 1984, At The Age Of 33, He Became Head Of The Pediatrc Neurosurgery Unit At Johns Hopkins.

Called The "most celebrated celebrated pediatric neurosurgeon in the world," Carson Has Written His Autobiography, Gifted Hands And A Motovational Book Titled, Think Big.
