"Bring Black Black" Movement Announces
Unprecedented Conventions
August 2007 (iZania) --
Representatives of the Movement to "Bring Back
Black" today announced plans to hold a "Birth-Giving"
Convention for a new national organization of Black
Nationalists and Pan-Africanists to be named the
NATIONALIST Black Leadership Council (NBLC). The
convention will be held on Saturday, October 13,
2007 at the Dudley Conference and Retreat
Center in Kernersville, North Carolina.
What makes the convention unique and
unprecedented is that three national organizations will
hold their annual conventions in the same location at
the same time. The New MATTAH Movement and the
National Black Alliance Network (NBAN) will hold their
annual conventions at the Dudley complex on
Friday, October 12, 2007.
The Movement to Bring Back Black (BBB) is
the brainchild of Professor James "Jim" Clingman of
Cincinnati, and grew out of a meeting he convened at
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College on
December 9, 2006. That gathering attracted over 100
self-described Black Nationalists, Pan-Africanists,
and self-determinists from around the country. The
BBB Movement itself is an organized effort to bring into
existence a much-needed national organization to
rally self-determinist and self-reliance sentiment
among people of African descent in America, and by
extension, throughout the "African Diaspora." "For too
long we have allowed Integrationists and
assimilationists to set the agenda and speak for
Black people," say BBB spokespersons. "The over-
arching result of this unhealthy situation is the
deplorable conditions too many of our people find
themselves in today." We have been made dependent
upon people who do not have our interests at heart,
with the result that we have been marginalized to the
fringes of American society." Amefika Geuka, Co-
Convener of the BBB organizational effort contends
that: "As things stand now, we are at serious risk of
facing the same kind of annihilation committed
against native Americans, Jews in Germany, and the
Herero people in Southwest Africa."
The New MATTAH Movement is emerging out
of the ashes of its predecessor, the MATAH Network, a
trail-blazing mechanism for the distribution of goods
and services produced and offered by Black
manufacturers and providers. The MATAH Network fell
on hard times in the aftermath of the death of its
charismatic co-founder and inspirational leader, Ken
Bridges at the hand of the infamous "DC Sniper"
several years ago. The New MATTAH Movement is
being revived under the leadership of a Board of
Managers which includes Mr. Raymond King, whose
company manufactured many of the products
distributed by the MATAH Network. Their immediate
goal is to sign up 10,000 customers for the MATTAH
AutoShip Program whereby one agrees to have a
minimum of $24.50 worth of MATTAH products
delivered automatically each month. "Revenues from
this AutoShip initiative will enable the MATTAH
Movement to be the catalyst for creating a vibrant
economy among and for the Black Community," states
Mr. King. "Hundreds of employment opportunities can
be created for our people in the first year after our goal
of 10,000 is reached, along with numerous business
opportunities for Blacks who are entrepreneurially
inclined, and the sky will literally be the limit
thereafter!"
The National Black Alliance Network (NBAN)
is the result of a cooperative effort among several
successful Black entrepreneurs and
businesspersons, most notably Dr. Jackie Mayfield
(Beaumont, Texas); Mr. Joe Dudley (Greensboro, NC);
and Dr. John Raye, also of Greensboro. Dr. Mayfield
created the ComproTax system, the nation's largest
Black-owned income tax preparation company; Mr.
Dudley is founder of Dudley Beauty Products; and Dr.
Raye is President and CEO of John Raye &
Associates, a business consulting firm specializing in
entrepreneurship training and professional
development. He is also Conductor of the "21st
Century Underground Railroad." NBAN seeks to have
Conscious Black businesspersons, entrepreneurs,
and professionals join forces and pool resources to
create a powerful mechanism for under girding and
promoting self-reliance and mutual support among
the African-American community.
These three organizations, and their joint convention
planning committee are calling all Blacks who believe
in self-reliance, self-determination, and mutual
support among our race, to join them in Kernersville,
North Carolina from October 11-13, 2007. It promises
to be a new day for the Black collective; advancing a
new way for us to practice racial uplift.
