The Black Web Awards
Launched in the Spring of 2006, the Black Web Awards began as an effort to highlight the myriad of original, positive websites with content from the Black perspective. Hosted exclusively at BlackWebAwards.com, the BlackWebAwards endeavored to produce an original event where the internet public both nominated and later vote for their favorite websites in one of just over one hundred categories ranging from religion and politics to entertainment and culture.

The representatives of Linton Consulting were surprised and humbled over the outpouring of interest and enthusiasm in both the nomination process and the votes cast. Over 5,000 original nominations were cast from 35 countries, and over 118,000 votes were cast from over 80 countries in year one.  In year two, nearly 650,000 votes were cast from 130 countries. By all measures, the Black Web Awards became an international success.  We were, however surprised by the sheer magnitude of new blogs and sites that launched after the nominees were announced.  If 2008 was the year of the online radio station, and 2009 was the year of the social network, then 2010 was truly the year of the Write In.

On behalf of Linton Consulting, LLC, we welcome you to the new BlackWebAwards.com website. We invite you to visit the various pages, review the rules and visit the websites from prior winners.  Should you wish to participate or volunteer with the Black Web Awards, feel free to contact us for more information.
