Cirque du Soleil: where problem solving begins with imagination. Cirque du Soleil isn't a circus, it's a global entertainment company. Although they perform under some of the most rigorous physical conditions, they continue to push the experience level for the attendee. What they are setting out to do is create an environment for that type of creative person as Harvard Business School is regarded to businesspeople. Interview day can be a circus like event, chaotic, fast paced and prone to a hiccup.

Stars understand their performance must be or at least appear to be flawless so fans perceive a fair return. Star interviewers are "flawless." They start with an in-touch understanding of the open position and structure their discovery process accordingly. Meaning they don't get hung up on job descriptions and degrees beyond sound reasoning. Typically, good seat placement is directly across from the candidate. Star interviewers place candidates in a left/right adjacent. Makes them feel more relaxed. Relaxed is important if you want an optimum experience. Star interviewers talk less, zero in on creativity, mental maturity, soft skills, and a history of solving problems.

Finally, they provide immediate feedback and/or closing comments reserving the opportunity to provide complete and individual feedback within a specified time. Volume is not an excuse and they avoid using chain letters as follow-up. The star interviewer leaves the candidate yearning to join the team and indirectly enrolls them as unofficial members of Marketing. Candidates leave with a buzz, spread the buzz, that you are the buzz. Star interviewers help create dynasty's like Cirque du Soleil have done.
