Missing the point... not closing the business? Without the target and the specifics, the headline, sentence, or storyline comes across weak. Swap out all three for conversation. Here’s an example:
- Why communication is the key.
- Why clear communication is the key to getting clients.
- Why clear communication is the key to getting 'higher-paying' clients
This simple example highlights the power of adding specifics and a target. This level of exactness does a few things:
- Forces the conveyor or publisher of information to remain on task – limits the chance for rambling
- Enhances the recipients focus – erases obscurity – prepares one for a decision versus poaching at possibility
To flirt with hybrid approaches of engagement or looking busy - poorly communicating in the process – is pointless. Employers – we all have one - are constantly asking that we step up our game. Customers shout. To doubt me is ill advised. Those that sit atop the charts typically exhibit unquestionable communication skills.
