  • Politics Is Like Hiring A Hitman
    by Scott Woods inPolitical on2020-08-13

For me, politics is like hiring a hitman. I have values and things I care about. I care enough about them to at least bother voting for 5 minutes every year for one issue or another. And because I care at least that much, I vote for people who align with the ability to realize the things I care about.

I believe our vote is the punctuation of our voice. Without that resounding exclamation mark, I believe our voices are just incoherent noise.

  • Living in a Black No-Man's Land
by Roger Madison Jr. inOur Community on2019-10-28

There are many narratives that define the Black experience in America in this 2nd decade of the 21st century. Our striving over the centuries of our sojourn in this nation is a tapestry of every human experience -- oppression, enslavement, forced assimilation, dehumanization, exclusion, segregation, isolation, struggle, perseverance, achievement, excellence, celebration, mourning, despair, progress, setbacks, lynching, assassination, genocide, terror, self-hatred, low esteem, pride,...

  • Fighting Racism
by Scott Woods inOur Community on2018-10-25

I had a boss who was racist. Not an outright bigot, of course; her toolbox was more subtle than most. We bumped heads a lot over inconsequential things. She frequently couldn’t keep my name out her mouth. Lot of gaslighting. You know…2018 style. I tried a lot of ways to combat or navigate her issues. None of them worked, and that’s saying a lot because I’m really good at fighting racism. But at the end of the day – every day – she was my boss, I had to deal with her, and that was that. Finally I...

IS JESSE JACKSON ON DRUGS?

GREETINGS BROTHERS & SISTERS:

MY NAME IS DEBBIE  AND AT 52 YEARS OF AGE...I THOUGHT I HAD SEEN AND HEARD IT ALL.

DOES NOT THE SCRIPTURES SAY:

"THERE IS NOTHING "NEW"  UNDER THE SUN?"

I THINK THAT MIGHT POSSIBLY HAVE CHANGED NOW WITH THE:

THE RECENT COMMENTS THAT AIRED ON NATIONAL TELEVISION REGARDING JESSE JACKSON'S COMMENTS ABOUT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BARRACK OBAMA.

WHEN JESSE JACKSON'S COMMENTS WERE OVERHEARD

ON AN "OPEN" MIKE DECLARING THAT:

"HE'S LIKE TO CUT OFF BARRACK OBAMA'S MANHOOD,"

I THOUGHT A VEIN IN MY HEAD WOULD BURST!

AS A FORMER  TV AND RADIO BROADCASTER SINCE 1994, AFTER LEAVING THE CORPORATE SECTOR...

I HAVE USED MY INTELLIGENCE AND SKILLS TO HELP PROMOTE PEOPLE...BUT ESPECIALLY MY OWN BLACK RACE.

OBVIOUSLY...THAT WAS UTTER JEALOUSY TALKING AND I'VE COME TO NOTICE THAT THE ONLY TIME WE SEE JESSE JACKSON'S FACE IN THE NEWS IS WHEN :

THERE IS A "CRISIS" , WITH A BROTHER OR SISTER THAT WILL MERIT HIM HUGE "PUBLICITY " TIME IN THE MEDIA.

WELL MY FRIENDS...BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PRAY FOR, BECAUSE YOU SHALL GET YOUR WISH, AS REV. JESSE JACKSON DID!

I THINK THIS MIGHT JUST WELL BE SOME PUBLICITY, THAT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY ON JESSES JACKSON'S WORDS OFWIDOM?

NO...NO.  WORDS OF UTTER DISGRACE FOR A MAN THAT HIDES BEHIND THE TITLE OF REVEREND.

IF MARTIN LUTHER KING COULD RISE UP OUT OF HIS GRAVE TODAY, HE WOULD BE APPALLED TO SEE, THAT WE, THE BALCK FOLKS HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR... HAVEN'T OVERCOME AT ALL!

BY JESSE JACKSON'S INANE COMMENTS HE HAS SET BLACK PEOPLE BACK TO THE SLAVE ERA.

THIS IS THE KIND OF SSCENARIO...WHITE FOLKS WHO HAVE A "RACIST"  MENTALITY ARE OVERJOYED TO HEAR.

LET US HOPE AND PRAY THAT OUR YOUNG, BLACK GENERATION, THAT ARE IN COLLEGE RIGHT NOW, WILL NOT ABSORB THIS KIND OF  "BLACK-ON-BLACK" HATRED AND ENVY... TOWARDS ANOTHER BLACK BROTHER OR SISTER... WHO IS TRYING TO BRING "US" UP THE LADDER TO SUCCESS AND NOT THROW US OUT OF A WINDOW TO OUR INTERLECTUAL DEATHS.

I FORGIVE MR. JACKSON'S IGNORANCE...

BUT IT IS TIME FOR HIM TO RETIRE AND SIT ON A BEACH AND REMEMBER WHEN HE DID DO MANY GREAT THINGS IN THE PAST AND NOW NEEDS TO LET THE BOLD AND THE NEW...CHART A NEW COURSE FOR OUR BLACK PEOPLE!

MAY GOD BLESS US ALL...
