Fleetwood's creations are an intriguing mix of exoticism, romance and modernity and have earned her admirers from across the globe in countries such as Germany, Egypt, Italy, Tanzania and Australia. Ebony-Weddings.com was created by husband- and- wife team Sonya Harris-Jones and Oscar L. Jones, whose 2005 nuptials were preceded by frustration over the lack of available matrimonial resources that spoke specifically to their African-American identity. After making contacts and exchanging ideas with various vendors, the Jones' launched Ebony- Weddings.com in 2006. THEREZ FLEETWOOD
Therez Fleetwood's bridal designs have been featured in the "New York Gets Married" and "Black Style Now" exhibits at the Museum of the City, as well as the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, where she designed an original wedding gown to support fund-raising efforts for "The Lost Boys of the Sudan" initiative. She's also had pieces at the Black Fashion Museum, located at her alma mater, the Fashion Institute of Technology.
