New ratings system hurting black radio

Arbitron has a new device to produce radio ratings numbers.The box is a audience-ratings device called a portable people meter. The box is to be carried on a belt or in a purse it automatically records which radio station they're listening to. The listenership numbers -- crunched at Arbitron's technology center in Columbia -- then are assembled into the audience rankings used by advertisers to buy airtime.

The problem is many believe that blacks and other minorities are being under represented which has caused some stations many thought had high ratings to tumble down the list and loose advertising dollars. Read more by clicking the link below:
