Thurgood Marshall Memorial
Location: State House - Annapolis, MD
This week for our African American Monuments & Statues posting we visit the Thurgood Marshall Memorial in Annapolis, MD in commemoration of Oct. 2, 1967. The day that Thurgood Marshall became the first African American appointed to the Supreme Court. This memorial was dedicated on October 22, 1996 and the artist in charge of the sculpture was Antonio Tobias Mendez.
